U16 BOYS GAME REPORTS
Mountain FC U16 BOYS vs Coquitlam Metro Ford - June 19th
Location : Burnaby Lake West #4
Weather : Overcast, sunny breaks.
Mountain FC - 2 : 1 - Coquitlam Metro Ford
Half-time score : 0:0 (mtn:oppos)
Coming off a disappointing loss to Kelowna the previous week, Mountain began the game with caution against the undefeated, defending North American champions CMF. The first real chance fell to CMF but Hyunjun Lee made a remarkable save that seemed to energize the Mountain players. The first half went scoreless with both teams intent on denying the other team space. At the re-start, Mountain began to mount some pressure and were rewarded on a corner that led to a goal mouth scramble. Eventually, the ball was steered over the line by K.D. Konneh and Mountain had the all important first goal. This goal gave Mountain all the confidence they needed and a second followed when a great individual effort from Adam Kang was headed home by Zora Sandhu. A well worked goal all around. This prompted CMF to push forward and they were able to get one back but the Mountain players dug in to defend the remaining minutes and came away with a well deserved victory against a difficult opponent.

Location : MacDonald Park, Vernon
Weather : Sunny, warm; long grass on field
Mountain FC - 2 : 3 - Thompson Okanagan FC
Half-time score : 0:2 (mtn:oppos)
Mountain had a difficult time adapting to the long grass and were not able to establish a possession game. Two passing mistakes were punished heavily as TOFC scored on each and took a 2-0 lead into the half. Mountain changed their style to a more direct approach and the pressure on the TOFC back four resulted in two Mountain goals. Unfortunately, a let down led to a third TOFC goal securing the three points for the home team.

Mountain started well keeping possession and putting pressure on Abby which created a few scoring chances but as in previous games, we were not able to finish. As the half progressed, Mountain began to get frustrated and started to overplay. Halftime score was 0-0. The second half started well and only took Mountain two minutes to score.Zora Sandhu received a ball from the midfield and took on a defender in the box creating space for himself for a shot on net. The shot was deflected into the bottom corner by Robbie Stewart for his 4th goal in the last 3 games. The remainder of the game was not particularly well played by either team but Mountain managed to see it through for the win.

Mountain FC - 4 : 0 - West Coast Capitals
Half-time score : 0:0 (mtn:oppos)
After starting the season with a loss, Mountain FC was in need of a win. The game started well with Mountain creating numerous scoring chances and holding their opponent to one shot in the first half. Second half changes paid off early as Paulo Dait broke the deadlock after a great pass from KD Konneh. Soon after, Dait made a nice run into the box where he was taken down by a defender for a penalty kick. Sukh Shergill hit an unstoppable shot just under the bar to make it 2-0. Mountain controlled the match from this point, adding two more goals by Robbie Stewart to register a convincing 4-0 win.

Mountain FC U16 BOYS vs Revolution - May 6th
Location : Newton Athletic Park
Weather : Overcast
Mountain FC - 1 : 3 - Revolution
Half-time score : 0:0 (mtn:oppos)
The game started slowly with both teams playing tightly and unable to retain possession of the ball. Very few chances were created in the opening half and the score remained 0:0. After the break Mountain FC began to set the pace for the game and created some opportunities but the Revolution goalkeeper who played an outstanding game, managed to hold them off. Finally, on a free kick cross from Dorian Colopisis and the ensuing scramble, Robbie Stewart was able to force the ball in for a Mountain FC lead. Unfortunately, the lead was short lived as two defensive errors quickly led to successive goals by Revolution. They added a third a short time later completely turning a game that appeared comfortable for the Mountain FC team. The final score was certainly not indicative of the overall play. Mountain FC will look to rebound against the West Coast Capitals next weekend.
Goal #1 scored by: Robbie Stewart Assisted by: Tyler Wright and assisted by: Dorian Colopisis
