Location : Macdonal Park (Vernon)
Weather : Sunny
Mountain FC - 3 : 0 - Thompson - Okanagan
Half-time score : 1:0 (mtn:oppos)
The u13 girls had a hard fought game in Vernon vs. Thompson - Okanagan on June 11th. The game started off very even and boasted few scoring chances for either team. As the first half progressed the Mountain FC passing game began to take over and were awarded with a goal on a broken play through Jordan Angus. The goal seemed to wake up the very competitive Okanagan team and they were awarded a penalty shot. Fortunately for Mountain the shot went wide. The first half continued to go back and forth and both teams were awarded by the fans on hand for a well played first half. It was 1-0 at half. The second half saw a bit of a different story line with Mountain FC having a large amount of territorial possession with the Okanagan FC keeper coming up with lots of saves. Mountain were able to capitalize early on in the second half on a goal by Juliet Davies and then another one by Gurneet Dhaliwal. A strike by Gagan Pamma late in the game rattled the crossbar keeping the score at 3-0. Special mention goes to Gurneet Dhaliwal for a spectacular game in midfield and on the wing. She got on the ball and created many scoring chances through crosses and starting some well worked passing combinations. Mountain continued its fine play against a well organized athletic team. THey now move on to play Coquitlam Metro-Ford on Sunday June 19t at 9:00am at Burnaby Lake West #3.

Half-time score : 8:0 (mtn:oppos)
The u13 Girls were able to convert on many of their chances in this game and scoring 14 goals in the process. Emma Paul had a strong passing game setting up 3 goals and being involved in many of the attacks that led to scoring chances. Stephanie Cogswell recorded her second shutout in as many games. Mountain FC U13 GIRLS vs Victoria Capitals - May 15th
Location : Layritz Turf Field
Weather : Overcast
Mountain FC - 7 : 0 - Victoria Capitals
Half-time score : 2:0 (mtn:oppos)
With ferry traffic and an accident on the way to the field the u13 Girls team showed up only 10 minutes before kick-off vs. Victoria on Sunday May 15th. Early on in the game the team rallied behind its defense Sarah DeMeda, Allyson Dickson, Emma Lobo and Anna Crone by controlling a motivated Victoria team from creating any scoring chances. In the 22nd minute the Mountain team recorded its first goal of the season by a Gurneet Dhaliwal well struck free kick over the outstretched hands of the Victoria goalkeeper. That goal calmed the Mountain team and the attacking players were able to get into the Victoria penalty box a few more times before the end of the half. A hand ball in the box by a Victoria player resulted in a penalty shot that Katelyn Erhardsen shot passed the Victoria goalkeeper. It was 2-0 at half time. Mountain came out in the second half very motivated to break down the Victoria defense and were rewarded with some great goals. Goals by Christina Dickson (25 yard volley), Emma Cunningham (shot bottom corner at the top of the box), 2 by Katelyn Erhardsen (volley inside the 6 yard box and a solo effort placing it past the keeper) made the score 6-0 with 10 minutes remaining. The last goal was the goal of the game with Mountain finding their rhythm. A 4 pass - 1 touch combination through midfield ended up finding Emma Cunningham who set up Jordan Angus for her first goal of the season and the 7th on the day for Mountain. Stephanie Cogswell played the full match in goal to record her first shutout of the season. The Mountain team will now have a 2 week break to prepare for their second match vs. Abbotsford on May 29th at Burnaby Lake West.
