Mountain FC recorded their 2nd loss in a row with an unfortunate 1-0 loss to Coastal FC at Minoru Park in Richmond, BC. A goal in the 11th minute by Coastal FC was enough to seal the win and condemn Mountain FC to a 2-3 record. Even with the loss, both Head Coach Steve Hood and assistant Richard Goddard were very pleased with the teamâs overall performance. âThe ball movement and team structure improved dramatically,â Coach Goddard said. âIt was good to see the boys learn from the tough lessons after our last match. Hopefully we can continue to improve as the season moves on.â Mountain FCâs best chance came with 10 minutes to go in the match, but the shot from 15 metres out was tipped over the crossbar by the Coastal goalkeeper. Mountain FC U-13 Boys will play their next match against Coquitlam Metro Ford on Wednesday July 6th 2011 at Town Centre East field 7pm.

Mountain FC U13 BOYS vs TOFC - June 11th

Mountain FC - 4 : 1 - TOFC

Mountain FC U-13 boys team returned to their winning ways with a 4-1 win away from home against Thompson Okanagan on Saturday June 11th. Mountain FC started off brightly in the 10th minute when Stefan Kammer was played through by Vinz Balitaan for the first goal of the match. TOFC were able to equalize in the 26th minute with a strike that beat Mountain FC Goalkeeper Brendan Detta off the crossbar. After some adjustments were made at halftime, Mountain FC was able to retake the lead via a beautiful freekick from Leonardo Sillas in the 43rd minute. 4 minutes later Malcolm Stafford extended the lead after a cross from Frazer Poulter was dropped by the TOFC goalkeeper. The 4th and final goal came in the 59th minute with Vinz Balitaan finishing off some good build up play with the set up pass coming from Malcolm Stafford. Mountain FC U-13 boys team will look to continue their return to good form against Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC On Sunday June 19th at Burnaby Lake West Sports Complex @ 9am.
